Danelectro reissue the iconic 3699 fUZZ™.Renowned for their cool retro looks, playability and unmistakable sound, Danelectro® guitars were right there at the birth of rock and roll and are still as popular as ever.Throughout this incredible journey, Danelectro owner Steve Ridinger has also produced some of the finest foot pedals in the history of guitar effects, which includes the classic FOXX® 3699 Tone Machine®, one of the most iconic guitar effect pedals of all time. Now available as a reissue, the Danelectro 3699 fUZZ™, mirrors all the glorious fuzz tones that made the original a must-have for thousands of players around the world, ever since it was invented by Steve in the 1970’s. Today it’s housed within a sturdy metal chassis with Danelectro’s custom wear and tear finish, aged knobs and funky large lens orange on/off indicator. Steve's also reintroduced the original analogue circuitry and included decades old NOS transistors which are gain selected so there’s a narrow gain range to produce really sweet tones along with some modern tweaks. While the unmistakable vintage core-tone voice remains, upgrades include, independent foot switchable octave, now with a significantly more pronounced octave shift, adding a new dimension to chords and extreme highs to solo note runs. The overall tone is also warmer, while a single tone control with a massive range, blends a broad array of exciting frequencies with the 3699’s classic edgy fuzz, which responds exceptionally well at any point throughout the guitar’s volume control sweep. New features also include a mini-toggle switch for a boost in the mid-range (to counteract the mid-cut of the original pedal) and true bypass switching.Steve’s often been asked why this stunning octave fuzz pedal was originally referred to as 3699. Back in the ’70s, it was considered cool for a company to have a phone number that spelled out the name of your product, so he figured out which numbers were needed to spell F-O-X-X. What he got was 3-6-9-9. To his utter amazement, this was already the FOXX company phone number, which was randomly assigned the year before by the phone company. Weird or spooky maybe, either way, the Danelectro 3699 fUZZ™ is the #1 choice for vintage fuzz.

    DBAC1

Danelectro relaunch the legendary Back Talk Reverse Delay Pedal. The Danelectro® Back Talk™ pedal is a reissue of the original model first launched back in 1999, and still regarded amongst musicians and studio engineers around the world, as the finest reverse/delay pedal ever built. The same software and NOS chip processor that created the original sonic magic, is once more featured in the new Back Talk, and again with Mix, Repeats and Speed controls, is a genuine reissue in every sense of the word, yet again, producing some of the richest, tape-like reverse/delay sounds ever heard from a stand-alone effects pedal. Now with a soft-action footswitch, funky large orange lens on/off indicator, the reissue Back Talk looks super cool in its wear and tear format, with subtle dings on the metal case, scuffed paint and faded control knobs, looking like it’s been on the same pedalboard for decades serving up timeless, '60s reverse tape simulation heard on so many classic tracks during the psychedelic era.Retaining the original Mix, Repeats and Speed, 3 control layout, Back Talk replaces with ease, the painstaking process of operating tape machines by hand. The ‘Mix’ control blends the wet and dry signal, while ‘Repeats’, sets the number of times the signal is voiced, from one to infinity and also varies the depth, creating an echo effect, with ‘Speed’ adjusting the delay time.Back Talk delivers an incredibly accurate take on the classic reverse tape simulation with undulating loops where chords fade ‘into’ the attack and solo notes bend ‘down’ to pitch.Back Talk also couples extremely well with other pedals and responds at any point throughout the guitar’s volume control sweep, for a whole new playing experience that you never knew existed in the ‘forward’ world.Danelectro guitar effect pedals have always been admired as innovative and inspirational and now, after achieving cult status, the legendary Back Talk is back, talking back at cha, delivering swirling, psychedelic-rock reverse tape simulation with unrivalled performance and playability.

  • Danelectro Nicholls 1966 Guitar Effects Pedal

    Danelectro Nicholls 1966 Pedal

    DN66

IN THE HILLS ABOVE HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA… sit several well known canyons. Beachwood Canyon, to the East of Hollywood, is home to the famous HOLLYWOOD sign. To the West sits Nichols Canyon, where Foxx pedals founder and current Danelectro® owner Steve lived with his parents in the mid 1960s. It was in the garage of that home on Nichols Canyon Place that Steve created his first effects pedal, which he named “The Liverpool Fuzz Tone”. Steve had no money to buy a fuzz and no access to any schematics. So he created a completely unique circuit architecture that has never been seen again. Although he called his box a “fuzz”, it was in fact half way between a distortion and a fuzz. This incredible box dishes out delicious tones unlike those of any pedal ever made. While Steve labored to create this new box in 1966, less than 2 miles away in Laurel Canyon musicians were collaborating on what would become the most famous songs of the 1960s.
